Professional Profile:
Paula J. Mayeda practices in the areas of real estate transactions and land use law. She has experience assisting with the approvals process for commercial and residential development projects, rent control removal permits, historic preservation issues, and has been actively involved with Santa Monica’s process of adopting an updated Land Use and Circulation Element through the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s LUCE Subcommittee.
Prior to joining HLKK law, Mayeda gained both legal and non-legal work experience at DLA Piper, CB Richard Ellis, Ernst & Young, and Charles Dunn Company. While in law school, Mayeda was involved with Phi Alpha Delta, the legal aid alternative spring break program, and served as class president.
Mayeda volunteers with the Alliance for Children’s Rights as a mentor to young women in the Santa Monica YWCA Transitional Housing and Education Program.
